The recent hype of tidying up with Marie Kondo have definitely inspired me to start packing up and decluttering my skincare. I wanted to do a skincare clear out before 2019, now that it is already February… I should really really stop procrastinating and start! Anyhow better late than never, right?
As I love buying and trying new skincare products I tend to gather a lot of products in my vanity. Essentials to me but definitely too much products for one face! I noticed I have been hoarding products that have long passed its recommended usage time and products that I just didn’t like. I have already cleared my closet and now I shall do the same for my skincare. You can read more about the KonMari method from her book directly or just look it up on google!
The KonMari method of organization always starts with discarding before organizing, you need to create more space before tidying up.
Here are the few things you can consider to clear
Products that have passed the recommended usage time
Products that didn’t ”sparks joy” – products you don’t enjoy using
Step 1 – Remove all the product boxes
I already had a box filled with product boxes that I kept for ”just in case” I needed it to take photos of it for my instagram or blog. For the past one year I have been gathering and gathering, never once reached out for them. I knew those had to go, so I recycled the entire box! One space cleared now.
Step 2 – Remove products that have gone passed its recommended usage time and products I didn’t enjoy
You can follow the guide available here . I managed to gather quite a few products and will be writing short reviews about them next! Another space cleared.
Step 3 – Remove Product empties
I have been keeping them all for reviews. Will start working on writing up reviews so look out for more posts! Have been really slacking and I will start posting more often!
Up next will be reviews on products that have expired!
